Here are some important details for the upcoming week and two days. Most of these details will be in the agenda this week, however, I'd like to post them here as well.
* Please have your child bring their R.E.D folder books back as home reading is now done for the year. Thank you SO much for reading with your children at home! It really does make a difference!
June 20th - We will be going to the pool to test our boats and to swim. Everyone is welcome to join and watch!
June 21st - I am putting on a little "Awards Ceremony" for our class, in our classroom. I will speak about every student and give them an award for a strength that they've shown this year. These will occur on Thursday from 11-12. Parents are more than welcome to come see their child get a certificate!
June 25th - Our class party will happen on Monday, June 25th because the actual last day is so busy. I will be giving the students their gifts on this day. We will eat our party food around 12:45 and then play games for the rest of the day. You are all welcome to come and hang out with us all day, if you'd like!!!
June 26th- Last day. We will be walking to mass at 9AM and then going to the park for the rest of the day. It is important that your child has a packed lunch and water bottle for this day.

I am so sad that my time with your children is ending for this year :( June is going to be a great, busy month!
Here are some important dates:
June 4th - The class has earned a slime party where we will be making slime together. Please have your child bring a mixing bowl to use for the day.
June 5th - Hawaiian Day and June book orders are due this day.
June 6th - Bright Lights
June 12th - Year end field trip to Coyote Flats in Picture Butte. If you would like to join us, please let me know. The bus will be very tight so you may have to drive yourself.
June 13th - Our class will be taking a trip to the Taber museum from 9AM-10AM. Parents are welcome!!!!!
June 14th - Track Day at St. Pats track. Please make sure your child has a bagged lunch as there will be no concessions this year.
June 20th - All of the 1/2 classes will be going to the Taber pool to test our boats and swim from 11AM-12PM.
June 21st - Bright Lights (alternate track day)
**Our class will also be having an awards day in our classroom as part of our 20 day countdown. All parents are welcome to come and watch!!! Awards will be given out from 11-11:30. But shhhhh, it's a secret for them! :)
June 25th - End of year class party. This will happen at 12:55 - end of day. I will send the volunteer list on Remind closer to this date if you signed up to bring something.
**We will also exchange gifts on this day because the last day is packed full of activities**
**Report cards will be coming home on this day**
June 26th - Last day of school. We will attend mass at 9AM and then go to the park for the rest of the day. All parents are, of course, welcome!!!!!!!!!
I am so grateful for everything you have all done for me this year. I hope you and your children have had an awesome school year and I am excited for what next year brings!

Can you believe it's May already?! This year has flown by. I just wanted to thank you all for bringing water bottles in for this month. I am going to continue this rule until the end of the year in hopes to reduce the use of styrofoam/plastic in our classroom.
Here are the events that are happening in May:
May 9th - Our class is going swimming at the Aquafun Centre at 9am. All are welcome to walk with us and hang out!
May 10th - It is princess/superhero day. Come dressed accordingly! It is also hot lunch in the PM.
May 16th - Swimming at 10am.
May 18th - PD day. No school.
May 21st - Victoria Day. No school.
May 23 - It is neon day today. Come dressed in super bright colours! We are also swimming at 1:30pm.
May 25th - Today is the Penny Carnival! Students will be participating in many fun activities throughout the day.

One more note about this month...
Earth day is on April 22 and I was hoping our class could make this month Earth month.
As an effort to reduce plastic cup use in our classroom, I want to encourage everyone to bring a water bottle.
I will be discussing this with the students tomorrow but I wanted to give you all a heads up.
If you do not have any re-usable water bottles, please let me know.

I hope everyone's break is going well. If only the weather was nicer...
Here are the special days that are coming up for this month:
April 9 - Back to school
April 11 - Crazy Hair Day - Wear your hair in a crazy way!
April 12 - Our class is going to the gymnastics centre from 11am-12pm. All parents are welcome to join! We will be walking both ways unless the weather is severe
April 13 - Spring book orders are due today
April 18th - Hot lunch in the PM
April 19 - Gymnastics from 10am-11am
April 20 - Our class will be welcoming Scientists in Schools to our room! We will need at least 4 parents volunteers for this day to happen so please message me if you are available to come in! It will be from 8:30am - noon
April 25 - Our class will be having a financial literacy presentation AND it's Jump Rope for Heart day!
April 30 - PD Day
And as always, parents are always welcome to stop by our classroom anytime! I have an open door policy and would love to have visits!

It feels like we barely had school in February. We are praying for no more snow days!
March is going to be very, VERY busy! Please see below for the days and events for the upcoming month :)
March 2 - This will be our class costume party - they earned it for good behaviour! They can wear a costume, pyjamas, whatever they feel like!
March 6 - Field trip to St. Francis. We will be going to see The Little Mermaid put on by St. Francis school in Lethbridge. The bus leaves at 8:30 am on the dot. We will not wait for anyone! We will be back around noon.
March 7 - Lent Service at 8:45am at St. Mary's
March 8 - Hot lunch today
March 12 - PD Day - No school for students today
March 13 - Lent Service at 8:45am at St. Mary's
March 15 - Bright Lights at 8:45am at St. Mary's
March 16 - St. Patrick's Day. We will have a class party starting at 9:45am. Please check to see if you are to bring anything!
March 19 - Ms. Wauters and our class will be putting on the Lent service at 8:45am at St. Mary's. All welcome!
March 20 - Jersey Day
March 21 - Stations of the cross presentation at St. Augustine's from 10-11. Hot lunch is also today.
March 22 - Show and Shine from 4pm-7pm. Come visit our classroom and see what your child has been up to!
March 23 - Report cards go home. Stations of the cross presentation at St. Augustine's for the community. Come and eat some soup!
March 26 - Our students will be partaking in a full day of Religious activities of the school - this is our student retreat!
March 29 - Holy Thursday Mass at St. Augustine's at 10am
March 30 - Good Friday. No school today until April 8th. The first day back from Easter break will be April 9th.

I can't believe February is almost here. There are a lot of things going on before our Family Day break! I will also have this list posted on my calendar outside of my classroom, and I will be sending home a February newsletter. My apologies for not sending one home in January.
Feb 1 - We will celebrate Groundhog Day today since Feb 2 is a PD day. If your child thinks the groundhog will see his shadow, have them come to school in comfy clothes/pyjamas. If your child thinks the groundhog will not see his shadow, have them come to school in spring wear!
Feb 7 - This day is our Bright Lights celebration at St. Mary's at 8:45am.
Feb 13 - Today is Shrove Tuesday. We will be going to the St. Mary's to eat a pancake breakfast that our parent council is preparing. Today will also be our Valentine's Day party. I will send out the list of volunteers for this day. The party will be starting around 12:45.
Feb 14 - Today is Ash Wednesday. We are heading to mass at 10:30 at St. Augustine's. All are welcome!
Feb 16 - Today is the 100th day of school! We will be doing activities related to the number 100 today. February book orders are also due today.
Feb 19-23 - The students have this week of school off! Enjoy the break :)
Feb 28 - Today is pink shirt day for anti-bullying awareness

I hope everyone had a lovely break, but it's time to get back into a good routine.
Tomorrow, January 8th, is the first day back to school! Your child can keep all of the Christmas work booklets they took home, but bring back the challenge sheet. They will get a special treat if they have completed their Christmas break challenge!
Skating will be happening at the civic centre throughout this month. You are more than welcome to attend, however, you must have skates if you wish to be on the ice. The skating dates are:
